Richardson gained a First Class Honours Degree in Fine Art from the University of Gloucestershire in 2008.
A full time practicing artist since graduation, Richardson has carved out a niche with her vibrant acrylics, which explore the relationship between everyday objects and the physical space they occupy.
Quotidian objects cease to function in their intended way, their slightly skewed perspective lending them a playfulness. Her use of colour, vast swathes of it fill the canvas, creating space which feels all the more empty in it’s vibrancy. Domestic interiors span the divide of 2 and 3D as you find yourself painted into a corner or in a boat, lost in a sea of intense colour.
Sourced from builder’s yards and reclamation sites, Richardson is drawn to objects
which have a strong visual history and human connotations, such as chairs, baths, and doors.
Included in collections in the UK, Europe and The US, Richardson’s works have broad cultural appeal.
